November 16th 2015 – Vancouver BC: The Canada Sevens organizing committee for the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series announced today that single-day tickets for the Men’s Canada Sevens Vancouver event taking place March 12-13, 2016 at BC Place Stadium, will go on-sale at 10am Tuesday, November 17th. Approximately 15,500 tournament passes, representing 31,000 tickets over the two-day tournament, have been sold for the Men’s HSBC Canada Sevens Vancouver, with Premium seating already sold out, and less than 3% of reserved seating remaining for tournament pass purchase. General Admission two-day tournament passes remain available, in addition to single-day tickets.
“We are very happy with our sales to this point” said Bill Cooper, CEO of the Canada Sevens Organizing Committee, “We’ve seen strong local interest, as well as 1,100 tournament passes sold across Canada outside B.C., and over 500 tournament passes sold internationally. With single-day tickets now available, we’re pleased to be offering fans and sports enthusiasts who haven’t purchased tickets yet another option to come out and enjoy sevens rugby.”
The committee also announced that the HSBC Canada Sevens Vancouver will offer limited “in and out” privileges at the stadium, meaning that during designated times throughout the tournament, ticket holders will have the ability to leave the stadium and return again with certain restrictions. Once the tournament schedule is set with World Rugby, the Canada Sevens Organizing Committee will confirm additional details on the designated times for in and out privileges during the 2 day event
“With 45 games contested between 16 nations over the weekend, spectators can expect an unrivalled festival atmosphere. Sevens rugby tournaments have a rich tradition of crowd energy and we expect the adjacent city districts, which include our bevancouver Premier Partner hotels and three downtown locations of our Premier partner The Keg Steakhouse & Bar, to be humming with all 16 nations’ fans, jerseys and flags. We are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for all who attend, and the special arrangements for in and out privileges enable us to offer ticketholders the opportunity to tailor their experience on each tournament day, which coupled with the exceptional location of our stadium, will make for an unforgettable weekend,” continued Cooper.
