VANCOUVER, BC (October 8, 2015) – Exactly one month into ticket sales for the 2016 HSBC Canada Sevens Men’s Rugby Tournament, the Canada Sevens organizing committee provided an update today that only 5% of reserved seating remains available to the public. Availability also remains in general admission.

“We are seeing incredible demand from local, domestic and international Rugby fans alike,” stated HSBC Canada Sevens CEO Bill Cooper. “We are proud to announce that we have sold out of several ticket options, leaving only 5% of our reserved seating options remaining – we encourage fans to secure their tickets as soon as possible. This level of public interest clearly shows the potential of this event to evolve into one of Canada’s landmark sport and entertainment experiences.”

Tickets for the 2016 HSBC Canada Sevens Men’s Rugby Tournament went on sale September 8, and during the first month of availability more than 13,000 tournament passes – representing 26,000 tickets – have been sold for both days of the tournament in the lower bowl configuration at BC Place. The stadium configuration will be similar to Vancouver Whitecaps FC and BC Lions games, with the secondary roof in place to provide an intimate sporting experience.

The last available reserved seating options include 7s Access – located above the athletes’ entrance and exit tunnels to the pitch – will give fans exclusive access to players for autograph signings, viewing post match interviews and more; and 7s Reserved, which is centrally located and offers premium viewing in the center of the stadium. Field Side Premium and Grosvenor Club seats, along with suites, are now sold out.

With several categories sold out, and reserved seating limited, the public still has the option of purchasing General Admission tournament passes for $89, or getting a group together – tickets are $82 when booking 10 or more tickets. Prices on the Canada Sevens website include taxes, with facility fees and Ticketmaster fees added at the time of purchase. Ticket options can be found online at https://thecanadasevens.com/mens/tickets.

Tournament passes provide access to all 45 games over the course of the two-day festival, and can be purchased online at http://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/11004EC8117AC615, or by contacting Ticketmaster at 1-855-985-5000. Tickets are currently being sold as two-day Tournament Passes only. Single day tickets will be released on Tuesday, November 17, pending availability.
