During his time with the Queen’s Gaels, Underwood won two OUA Championships. At the national level, Underwood competed at the Junior World Rugby Trophy in 2010 and 2011 before making his sevens debut in 2015.

He took part in four tournaments as the youngster developed his skills in the high- pressure environment of the series. As with so many of Canada’s players who have moved through the ranks into fifteens, sevens has helped their game grow and after making his Senior Men’s debut in 2013, Underwood has gone on to play in 11 test matches for Canada.

He impressed during the mid-year internationals before making one appearance in the 2015 Rugby World Cup and will be looking to use that experience once again on the sevens circuit in
2015-16.
